2017/05/16 - CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars
For today's unboxing review we bring you the insanely awesome 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, or QV, for short. What you're about to see is literally a four-door Ferrari, and that's a very good thing. Why? Because the mighty BMW M3 has finally met its match. Not only does the Giulia QV come with Italian good looks, but it's, simply put, the better driver's car. It is the new benchmark high-performance sedan in its class. What's its secret sauce? How does a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter bi-turbo V6 with 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque sound to you? We're not complaining. All of that power is routed to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic. The six-speed manual isn't offered in the US. Zero to 60 mph happens in only 3.7 seconds, 0-100 in 8.2 seconds, and a claimed top speed of 191 mph.
Can Alfa Romeo's new performance sedan – which graced the cover of the April 2017 issue of CAR magazine – beat the kingpin BMW M3 round Killarney? We hand the keys to resident race ace Deon Joubert, who attacks the track in the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde. Watch the video above to catch some of the action and see where this hot Alfa QV slots in on our lap-time board…
We're on the way! Day 1 of Fuel Faction DUE kicks off from the Lingotto factory in Turin to take us up to Lake Como via two stops: Sparco and the Alfa Romeo Museum.
Joined by a group of friends we're heading around Italy from Turin towards Sardinia, on the second Fuel Faction tour supported by Trading 212 but this time also joined by some friends to make it even more fun. Visiting Sparco was new to most of the team and we were able to see the process for the seats in the new Ford GT as well as Bugatti Chiron, and then as we have two Alfa Romeos on the tour; the Giulia Quadrifoglio and the 4C Spider so this was the perfect second location.
